Twitter Will Formally Incorporate Retweeting
August 31, 2009 by Stephen S Alison · 3 Comments
Twitter Will Formally Incorporate Retweeting – Retweeting is a user-generated communication technique for reposting someone else’s message. It is similar to quoting. Currently, there is no set format for retweeting, which basically consists of reposting someone’s tweet and giving due credit.
When you want to call more attention to a particular tweet, you copy/paste it as your own, reference the original author with an @mention, and finally, indicate that it’s a retweet. The process works although it’s a bit cumbersome and not everyone knows about it.
The most common scheme for a retweet involves prefacing the post with the letters “RT,” then the @ symbol, and the username of the person being quoted. The retweet rebroadcasts the information to a new set of followers, who see the retweet and have the option of retweeting themselves. In this way, ideas, links, and other information can be distributed–and tracked–fairly quickly.
Last week, Twitter announced that it will soon implement a button that will let users automatically repost someone else’s tweet.
When Will It Launch?
In a few weeks or so Twitter will launch the feature on their web site and because app developers had a chance to prepare, it should become available across most of the Twitter ecosystem about the same time. This way, we can all enjoy retweeting – however we choose to access Twitter.
Marketing Small Businesses With Twitter

Marketing Small Businesses With Twitter – Much has been made of how big companies like Dell, Starbucks and Comcast use Twitter to promote their products and answer customers’ questions.
But today, small businesses outnumber the big ones on the free microblogging service, and in many ways, Twitter is an even more useful tool for them, writes Claire Cain Miller at the New York Times.
“For many mom-and-pop shops with no ad budget, Twitter has become their sole means of marketing. It is far easier to set up and update a Twitter account than to maintain a Web page. And because small-business owners tend to work at the cash register, not in a cubicle in the marketing department, Twitter’s intimacy suits them well.”
Here is another Marketing Small Businesses With Twitter story:
Three weeks after Curtis Kimball opened his crème brûlée cart in San Francisco, he noticed a stranger among the friends in line for his desserts. How had the man discovered the cart? He had read about it on Twitter.
Curtis Kimball, owner of a crème brûlée cart in San Francisco, uses Twitter to drive his customers to his changing location.
For Mr. Kimball, who conceded that he “hadn’t really understood the purpose of Twitter,” the beauty of digital word-of-mouth marketing was immediately clear. He signed up for an account and has more than 5,400 followers who wait for him to post the current location of his itinerant cart and list the flavors of the day, like lavender and orange creamsicle.

Using Twitter as Part of an Overall Strategy
August 28, 2009 by Stephen S Alison · 1 Comment
Using Twitter as Part of an Overall Strategy – As a Twitter user, you should realize that Twitter should be used as part of your overall strategy.
It is not enough to just focus on Twitter all day long, as that is putting your eggs all in one basket! If you have a successful following in your niche, it is time to encourage them to visit your blog or website. Better yet — they should be able to easily purchase a product from you since they have grown to trust you.
This message serves as a warning that too many people waste their days away on Twitter. While it’s fun to chat with people, there has to be a limit you set for yourself. Otherwise, while Twitter is keeping you busy, it’s not actually productive. It’s best to set a time limit each day for how much you time you can spend on Twitter. For some people, just 10 minutes per day works well. If you’re having trouble with that low number, and enjoy Twitter as entertainment, you might increase that to an hour or so. The problems occur when people spend hour upon hour on Twitter. That’s no way to build your business!
With that said — that does not mean Twitter isn’t a great IM platform! There are some people making thousands of dollars on Twitter, and have no problem doing so. That’s because they have dominated their niche and have added so much value that people have no problem ordering from them or visiting their website. It’s best to emulate these people. Find out who is successful on Twitter and ask some questions, or model their strategy. You should be following them in your own Twitter account to see what successful Twittering looks like.
Along with Twitter, you might develop a squeeze page, product, affiliate offer, or whatever else is part of your overall business strategy. Please realize that Twitter is just one traffic generation/networking tool, and that there are many others out there as well that you can take advantage of. Writing articles, creating videos, networking on Facebook, networking on MySpace, and other avenues are the perfect ways to advertise your business. Twitter is incredibly fun, and incredibly useful, but it’s just one part of your overall marketing message.
As you start to use Twitter, set those limits for yourself and figure out a game plan. That will help you use it as effectively as possible, so you can start marketing and getting more traffic and more money.

Twitter Twenius Trainee Marketing
August 23, 2009 by Stephen S Alison · Leave a Comment
Twitter Twenius Trainee Marketing – Practically everyone agrees Twitter has come from out of nowhere, establishing itself as a new channel of interactive communication in the online and mobile world.
Celebrities, news reporters and famous names from @SnoopDogg to @DemiLovato to @JonFavreau to @MarthaStewart and others, are all mad about Twitter.
However Twitter is far more amazing than that. Truth be told, Twitter is a local based connection tool too. More likely than not, your town municipal government is using Twitter, your local TV and radio news, your local Fire Department, your library, your local college, even the guy that cleaned your carpets recently. If they are not on Twitter today, they’ll likely be on soon.
But there’s another audience moving fast and furious on Twitter. It’s a tidal shift of a more serious nature whereby businesses and entrepreneurs are now tapping the magical potential of Twitter. When we see successful companies such as: @JetBlue, @elischeesecake or @rubbermaid start lining up on the Twitter bandwagon, it’s definitely time to take notice.
Perhaps this “business phenomena” boils down to the enduring fact that a significant amount of business actually occurs in social gatherings, at cocktail parties, on the golf course, and at numerous other social events. Now, through Twitter it’s become possible, if not down right easy, to benefit from an online version of a non-stop 24 hour, 7 day a week cocktail party of unimaginable proportions.
The facts and news stories are impressive:
- Pam O’Neil, VP of Marketing at BreakingPoint said, “Twitter has all but replaced our PR agency, [at times] resulted in a huge spike in web traffic and deals with major service providers.”
- “81% of marketers surveyed say that social media will meet or exceed traditional advertising spending within the next 5 years.” ~TWI New Communications Research
- “The TOP two “social media” topics marketers were most interested in learning more about: Social Bookmarking (58%) and Twitter (57%)”
- “The average unique visitor went to Twitter.com 14 times during the month and spent an average of seven minutes on the site.”
How should I interpret all this? It means that if you are an entrepreneur or are involved with any business, you must go directly to Twitter, do not pass go, do not collect $200, and set up your own Twitter account.
Can it be that easy?
Well, not quite. Once you have your Twitter account opened, that’s when the for most people, the challenges begin. It’s a very very basic concept, but like a Rubik’s Cube, unless you have a clear strategy, you’re going to soon be scratching your head.
Fortunately, there is help. Internet strategist and social media marketing expert, Dan Hollings has spent the past year researching and testing Twitter strategies for business. Along the way, Dan wrote 100 of the most popular Twitter tips found anywhere online. Next he created a toolbar for Mac or PC that puts over 230 Twitter tools, tips and apps within one-click of your Twitter activities. Recently, he released his remarkable Twitter training program called, “Twitter Twenius” (that’s Twitter-talk for genius).
Here is a sample Twitter tip, to wet your whistle:
People visiting your Twitter page want to know WHY they should follow you. If your Twitter posts look interesting, your wallpaper catches their eye, your photo looks good, and your bio packs a punch, all that’s left to convince a visitor to follow, is a quick click on your BIO/site link. At that point, you either convince them to follow or they’re gone. A good “Twitter Convincer” page can be an “About Me” page or any page that gives the visitor two things:
- The answer to “Why Should I Follow?”
- A convenient way to get back to your FOLLOW BUTTON on your Twitter page.
It goes without saying that there’s so much more to learn, however if you’re looking for Twitter revenue generating ideas or a way to accelerate the Twitter afterburners on all your promotional campaigns from local to international, I wholeheartedly recommend Twitter Twenius.
Opening Different Twitter Accounts
August 22, 2009 by Stephen S Alison · 1 Comment
Opening Different Twitter Accounts – Some people are concerned that if they open one Twitter account they will not be able to open another Twitter account.
Fortunately, many people have successfully opened multiple Twitter accounts according to the niches they are in.
For example, some people might have an Internet marketing Twitter account, and then they might have a Twitter account that focuses on another niche they are in, such as parenting.
You may want to concentrate on building one follower list first before moving on to another. However, if you find that you’re getting many Twitter followers and are successfully getting traffic and sales in one account, it’s time to try your methods in another account. Scale it up!
It’s easy to create another Twitter account. You will need another e-mail address, which is easy to get at Gmail.com or Yahoo.com. Simply put in this e-mail address, choose your username, and you are good to go. This is helpful because you want to really match your marketing and networking to the right people. If you have a list full of people from hundreds of different niches, it will be very hard to match this kind of marketing. Doing so in different niches is really the best choice you can make.
Unfortunately, it can become quite overwhelming to manage all these different accounts. That is when you’ll want to make use of some of the automated tools and methods out there that help you manage multiple accounts. In fact, there’s a product available that is very comprehensive and includes a method for managing more than one account. For the savvy marketer, this is actually a must!
Figuring out whether you can open up different Twitter accounts is just one thing you need to educate yourself on if you want to dominate your niche on Twitter. You do need to be careful about automated methods and building many different Twitter accounts very quickly, because that will definitely raise a red flag in the Twitter system. You want to work with the system, provide value, and develop a good Twitter business model in order to make as much money as possible and drive as much traffic as possible to your website.
If it fits into your current business model, open another Twitter account! This’ll be a great decision that will help you to drill down into different niches and master all of the ones you decide to target.

Turbo Cash Generator
August 21, 2009 by Stephen S Alison · 1 Comment
Turbo Cash Generator – Turbo Cash Generator is an automated product that you can use to help you gain a large number of Twitter followers.
It is software, but the product also includes several guides to help you make money online. For the money, many will consider this to be a good value.
However, it must be said that the Turbo Cash Generator methods are not going to be something everyone wants to take part in. The basic idea is that the software will create a landing page for you so you can make affiliate sales. It will then get Twitter followers for you, in the hope that you can drive traffic to this landing page on autopilot.
The problem is that the products the creator promotes on your automated landing page are her own products! Clearly, there is something in it for the product owner and this will not be for everyone. You can take it upon yourself to make this a little less automated, and promote different offers since it is your Twitter account. However, Twitter is really cracking down on methods like this, so you’ll need to beware that before you put in any time and effort into watching the Turbo Cash Generator videos, or following through with the rest of the course.
Other people will be more than happy to use the Turbo Cash Generator landing page in the hopes that they make some affiliate sales of the product owner’s product. It is worth a try, as purchasing access is not that expensive — and there may be some returns depending on the target market. Do be aware that sometimes these methods become oversaturated, especially when the landing pages look the same.
All in all, Turbo Cash Generator is a fairly controversial product that some people might see great results with. Do your due diligence and see if this product is something that fits into your current business model. If not, get either Twitter Traffic Machine or Twitter Traffic Exposed, which might be a better bet for you. Doing things on autopilot is great, as long as you are sure it fits in with your business model and the success you dream of having on Twitter. Click here for our VIDEO REVIEW

How Often Should You Market on Twitter
August 21, 2009 by Stephen S Alison · Leave a Comment
How Often Should You Market on Twitter – Many people who are new to Twitter wonder how often they should market. If you’ve been on Internet marketing forums, then you know that this is a topic of hot debate.
Some people think it’s fine to market whenever you want on Twitter. Other people think you should never market and that the site should just be used for social networking purposes.
As part of defining your Twitter business plan, you need to decide what is right for you. If you would rather just showcase what you have for sale — by all means do so. Just realize that your conversions might be lower than those who take the time to develop a relationship. Some people wonder what exactly it means to have a relationship on Twitter. Obviously, if you have thousands of followers the chance of you being able to keep up with the conversation in its entirety are slim. However, you can reply to people, follow interesting people, offer valuable content, and more in order to become a respected Twitterer your niche.
Once you take the time to network, people will be very responsive when you decide to market something. You can easily get traffic and sales once you start doing this! That’s because people are most likely to purchase from someone they know and trust. Even though it is online, and is micro-blogging, people feel like they get to know you over time from your tweets. They’ll know about your business, what you’re up to, and what your personality is like. That can make a huge difference when it comes to dealing with you over a competitor in your niche.
That doesn’t mean there is a magic formula as to how often you should market and how often you should network. Go with your gut, and examine what other people in your niche seem to be doing. Often they are doing what many followers seem to really enjoy, so you can emulate what they are doing and put your own twist on it.
Over time, you may find that your Twitter strategy changes. That is just fine! The only important thing is that you get started networking and marketing on Twitter as soon as possible. This is a golden opportunity, as the site is growing over time, and it can be an excellent way to reach targets in your market. Marketing on Twitter can be an excellent strategy to earning more money!

Making Money on Twitter
August 20, 2009 by Stephen S Alison · Leave a Comment
Making Money on Twitter – There are many different ways you can make money on Twitter.
You need to know what your business model is and how to set things up. For example, some people tweet direct affiliate links on Twitter. This is sometimes frowned upon by others, but it may not be a problem depending on the niche you are in.
Another way to make money on Twitter is more direct. You can simply tweet a link to a product you are selling.
Yet another method is to tweet a link to an opt-in page so you can build a list. This list will then be full of people you can easily contact any time you want in order to make more money. Simply set up a squeeze page with a free e-book (or whatever you’d like) to give away to entice people to join your list.
Some people tweet links to their blogs or websites where they have Adsense or cost per action offers. This can be a good way to make money, depending on who the people in your niche are. Obviously, you’ll need to match the market to the product you are trying to promote. Once you do that, and add value for the people who follow you, it’ll be easier than ever for you to make sales!
Of course, it’s important to realize that the more traffic you have, the more visitors and sales you are likely to get. That is why, in addition to networking and marketing, it’s important to focus on getting as many followers as possible. In previous parts of this series we discussed ways to get more followers. Hopefully you are still making that your mission, as it is very important. The more followers you have, the easier things will be for you to make money online!
It’s important to test and track things as well. You may find that certain types of links work well on Twitter and others do not, depending on the niche you are involved in. People in one niche might respond to affiliate offers better, while people in another niche might respond to joining an opt-in list more readily.
Doing a little bit of market research and seeing what other people in your niche do is a great way to earn more money on Twitter. Who knew that such a fun social networking tool could be such a profitable money generator? Many people are earning full-time incomes on Twitter, so it’s time for you to join that trend today.
