Retweeting Rollout Continues – Retweeting is a user-generated communication technique for reposting someone else’s message. It is similar to quoting. Currently, there is no set format for retweeting, which basically consists of reposting someone’s tweet and giving due credit.
In our previous article entitled Twitter Will Formally Incorporate Retweeting we reported that Twitter announced that it will soon implement a button that will let users automatically repost someone else’s tweet.
According to Twitter’s blog post today “Retweeting Rollout Continues…We’re continuing to rollout the new retweet feature to more users (so you might see mention of it from the folks you follow). Thanks for your patience as we get Retweet out to everyone.”
According to TechCrunch: “So what’s the verdict? Some people love it, some people hate it. It is definitely a significant change to the way people are accustomed to using Twitter, so it will undoubtedly take some time for most users to get used to.”

Twitter’s Trending Topics – Twitter is experimenting with improvements to trends that will help you find more relevant tweets.
According to their blog “the number of tweets each day continues to astound Twitter and they have noticed an increasing amount of clutter in the public timeline, especially with trending topics. “So, today we’re starting to experiment with improvements to trends that will help you find more relevant tweets. Specifically, we’re working to show higher quality results for trend queries by returning tweets that are more useful. The improvement won’t be very noticeable at first, but this is a small step toward unearthing more value in search and getting you more relevant results.”
Here are some quotes and comments from a recent article on this topic in TechCrunch entitled: Twitter Starts Curating Trending Topic Tweets: Read more

A direct result of the collaboration between Twitter and Peek is The TwitterPeek, a version of the device built exclusively for sending tweets.

Twitter hopes to encourage a larger share of people to send tweets from mobile devices since only a tiny percentage of members use their phones to do so. So in June, Twitter approached Peek. The device is nearly exactly the same as the company’s email product, the Peek Pronto, except that the user interface is tweaked for Twitter. Read more
