Twitter Twenius Trainee MarketingTwitter Twenius Trainee Marketing – Practically everyone agrees Twitter has come from out of nowhere, establishing itself as a new channel of interactive communication in the online and mobile world.

Celebrities, news reporters and famous names from @SnoopDogg to @DemiLovato to @JonFavreau to @MarthaStewart and others, are all mad about Twitter.

However Twitter is far more amazing than that. Truth be told, Twitter is a local based connection tool too. More likely than not, your town municipal government is using Twitter, your local TV and radio news, your local Fire Department, your library, your local college, even the guy that cleaned your carpets recently. If they are not on Twitter today, they’ll likely be on soon.

But there’s another audience moving fast and furious on Twitter. It’s a tidal shift of a more serious nature whereby businesses and entrepreneurs are now tapping the magical potential of Twitter. When we see successful companies such as: @JetBlue, @elischeesecake or @rubbermaid start lining up on the Twitter bandwagon, it’s definitely time to take notice.

Perhaps this “business phenomena” boils down to the enduring fact that a significant amount of business actually occurs in social gatherings, at cocktail parties, on the golf course, and at numerous other social events. Now, through Twitter it’s become possible, if not down right easy, to benefit from an online version of a non-stop 24 hour, 7 day a week cocktail party of unimaginable proportions.

The facts and news stories are impressive:

  • Pam O’Neil, VP of Marketing at BreakingPoint said, “Twitter has all but replaced our PR agency, [at times] resulted in a huge spike in web traffic and deals with major service providers.”
  • “81% of marketers surveyed say that social media will meet or exceed traditional advertising spending within the next 5 years.” ~TWI New Communications Research
  • “The TOP two “social media” topics marketers were most interested in learning more about: Social Bookmarking (58%) and Twitter (57%)”
  • “The average unique visitor went to Twitter.com 14 times during the month and spent an average of seven minutes on the site.”

How should I interpret all this? It means that if you are an entrepreneur or are involved with any business, you must go directly to Twitter, do not pass go, do not collect $200, and set up your own Twitter account.

Can it be that easy?

Well, not quite. Once you have your Twitter account opened, that’s when the for most people, the challenges begin. It’s a very very basic concept, but like a Rubik’s Cube, unless you have a clear strategy, you’re going to soon be scratching your head.

Fortunately, there is help. Internet strategist and social media marketing expert, Dan Hollings has spent the past year researching and testing Twitter strategies for business. Along the way, Dan wrote 100 of the most popular Twitter tips found anywhere online. Next he created a toolbar for Mac or PC that puts over 230 Twitter tools, tips and apps within one-click of your Twitter activities. Recently, he released his remarkable Twitter training program called, “Twitter Twenius” (that’s Twitter-talk for genius).

Here is a sample Twitter tip, to wet your whistle:

People visiting your Twitter page want to know WHY they should follow you. If your Twitter posts look interesting, your wallpaper catches their eye, your photo looks good, and your bio packs a punch, all that’s left to convince a visitor to follow, is a quick click on your BIO/site link. At that point, you either convince them to follow or they’re gone. A good “Twitter Convincer” page can be an “About Me” page or any page that gives the visitor two things:

  1. The answer to “Why Should I Follow?”
  2. A convenient way to get back to your FOLLOW BUTTON on your Twitter page.

It goes without saying that there’s so much more to learn, however if you’re looking for Twitter revenue generating ideas or a way to accelerate the Twitter afterburners on all your promotional campaigns from local to international, I wholeheartedly recommend Twitter Twenius.
