Evan Williams Wants To Kill The Suggested User List
October 21, 2009 by Stephen S Alison
Evan Williams Wants To Kill The Suggested User List – Evan Williams, CEO and co-founder of Twitter, took the stage for a discussion with Federated Media’s John Battelle at the Web 2.0 Summit 2009 in San Francisco late Tuesday.
In a lengthy and broad ranging discussion covering a lot of interesting topics Evan Williams says Twitter traffic may have plateaued, but only temporarily but said that they think they have new features coming out that will change that.
According to an article in TechCrunch.com, the most interesting bit came at the end when conference founder Tim O’Reilly asked a question from the audience. O’Reilly asked if it was time to retire the Suggested User List (SUL) with the new Twitter Lists feature coming? Williams made it very clear that he absolutely agrees that it’s time. When Lists comes out and are working properly, they plan to kill the SUL, Williams says.
